"What fresh lunacy is this?"

It's 2021, more than a year into the new reality of global panic and anxiety and a long, long time since Steve Jobs theatrically buried Mac OS9 at an Apple event pointing the way to a bright, OSX shaped future.

As far as OSX and a multitude of other operating systems are concerned, the future is here now with ever increasing hardware specs driving evermore bloated web browsers, tackling evermore complex and intensive web protocols that will guarantee that no matter what device you buy to stay relevant, the clock's ticking towards it's obsolescence the second you hit the start button.

So I wanted to create something that resolutely ignores all the must have browser functionality of the last twenty years, an oasis of retro-geek calm that won't invade your focus with pop-ups, adverts for a better you or enticing introductions to single ladeez in your vicinity...

And crucially, it's TLS proof - no pesky modern security framework to stop your 1999 Mac from joining in and seeing something better than the usual broken pages and nightmarish text formatting disasters...

All painstakingly (and with extra emphasis on the pain part) hand coded in TextWrangler after following every necessary "how to" at w3docs.

I've tested this to be reasonably comfortable on most browsers I possess - it works on Classilla 9.3.3 and looks best on Safari 4 - it even looks cool on my Nokia E72...
